4th of July in ATX & Paradise Valley: Our Americana Essentials

There’s no better way to do Americana than in two of the country’s best places to spend Independence Day: Austin, TX and Paradise Valley, MT.

From brisket and dive bars to rodeos and river floats, these destinations deliver the kind of Fourth of July experiences that feel as iconic as they are unforgettable. Here’s how we’re celebrating this year — the local way.

Fireworks with a View

The official H-E-B Symphony Fireworks show at Auditorium Shores is a staple, but those in-the-know head to rooftop bars like P6 at The LINE Hotel or—better yet—that one friend of a friend of a friend with a boat and an unbeatable lake view.

BBQ + Banana Pudding

Terry Black’s is a must. Go for the brisket, stay for the banana pudding (our personal fav)! Pre-orders for the 4th are also open on their site!

Dive Bars & Honky Tonks

After the fireworks, the night’s just starting. Make it a dive tour: Donn’s Depot (where even Dua Lipa stopped by last year), Nickel City, and Deep Eddy Cabaret are a few of our personal favorites.

Willie’s Picnic

The Willie Nelson 4th of July Picnic at Germania Insurance Amphitheater features a star-studded lineup and post-show fireworks — a Texas-size way to celebrate.

rodeo nights

Since 1924, Livingston Roundup Rodeo has brought all the Americana energy you could ask for — bull riding, fireworks, and a full town celebration.

cookout at sage lodge

Sage Lodge offers a laid-back luxury experience with lawn games, live music, and mountain views. Add a private chef or whiskey tasting for that extra Montana touch.

float the yellowstone

Beat the heat with a river float — pack a cooler, call your crew, and let the Yellowstone carry you into the long weekend.
